CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER

ROLE

As a CTO, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting our Project Managers in various real estate projects, both domestically and internationally. You will ensure the technical quality and construction costs of our projects from the design phase to delivery, and you will make sure that our high standards in terms of price-quality ratio are achieved.

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guiding and supporting the Project Managers with regard to projects both in Belgium and abroad.
  • As the final responsible and in leading the Project Managers:
    • Monitoring the technical quality and construction costs of the projects from the design phase to delivery. Optimizing the price/quality ratio of the projects;
    • Organizing and leading the selection of contractors/executors, seeking the best and most qualitative solutions, preparing and concluding construction contracts, following up on the execution phase, including ensuring compliance with BVI.EU’s specific requirements, such as cleanliness, communication, and sustainability;
    • Continuously monitoring budget, timing, safety, and quality during the execution phase and periodically reporting on these;
    • Seeking and implementing optimizations and standardizations; monitoring product and market developments (innovative construction techniques, etc.);
    • Maintaining oversight of the execution organization and monitoring staffing;
  • Developing an international tendering process;
  • Developing systems for modular and timber construction;
  • Monitoring IT systems that can be integrated into our projects (e.g., data cabling, energy monitoring, etc.);
  • Establishing and monitoring the products and processes within the technical department, and integrating the activities of the technical department into BVI.EU’s overall business process;
  • Setting up, implementing, monitoring, and optimizing technical standards (e.g., standardizing processes, specifications, etc.), work procedures, and best practices;
  • Identifying and implementing innovative and sustainable technologies such as renewable energy, maintenance, etc.;
  • Defining a clear standardization of sustainable aspects such as landscaping, water management, biodiversity, etc.;
  • Participating in final contract negotiations with all contractors and subcontractors to obtain the best and most qualitative offers for the realization of real estate projects;
  • Following up on budgets and timelines of projects in development/execution;
  • Responsible for the implementation of special techniques and managing a knowledge center;
  • Responsible for monitoring correct periodic reporting during the execution phase to the management.

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • A civil or industrial engineer in construction/architecture with a minimum of 10 years of work experience, either as a project manager in the execution of construction projects, experience in management, or equivalent.
  • A “Passion for construction.”
  • A proactive attitude, can-do mentality, team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Service and customer-oriented, solution-driven.
  • High standards of ethics and loyalty.
  • Excellent command of Dutch, French, and English.
