BVI.EU takes a new step in sustainable entrepreneurship in Limburg
Kortessem, 1 October 2025 – Today, the symbolic first stone was laid at Hasseltsesteenweg 157 for the Kortessem Green Business Park. The 32,103 m² project, developed by BVI.EU, combines a strategic location, sustainable facilities, and maximum flexibility. The business park offers SME units from 144 m² and Build-to-Suit buildings up to 4,500 m², for sale or lease, representing a major investment in the region’s economic future. The event was attended by Tom Thijsen, former Mayor of Kortessem and current Alderman for Core Strengthening and Finance, Rik Dehollogne, Alderman for Economy of the City of Hasselt, and Bert De Nijs, Business Unit Director VL/NL at BVI.EU.
Dynamic business spaces for every entrepreneur
The construction of the new Kortessem Green Business Park will take place in phases; the first phase will be completed in the second quarter of 2026. The business park offers SME units from 144 m² to 2,300 m², modular and fully adaptable: from production and storage to offices or B2B showrooms. Corner units with greater visibility and a premium look are ideal for commercial activities. For larger companies, custom-built buildings up to 4,500 m² are possible.
Sales and leasing have already started. 50% of the units have already been sold to local entrepreneurs and investors – a clear signal of the project’s strong appeal.
Sustainability and innovation at the core
The project was designed with a focus on energy efficiency and environmental value. Entrepreneurs can opt for sustainable facilities such as solar panels, heat pumps, and rainwater recovery systems, contributing to lower energy costs and greener business operations. The park also features smart LED lighting, solar-powered video surveillance, high-quality insulation, and landscaped green areas with aesthetic wadis, creating a pleasant working environment.
Strategic location in the heart of Limburg
Located just 2.2 km from Kortessem centre and 2.5 km from the E313 motorway, the park is easily accessible. Hasselt (10 km), Tongeren (12 km), Sint-Truiden (20 km) and Maastricht (30 km) are all within short distance; Antwerp and Brussels are only 85 km away.
“This location offers entrepreneurs not only logistical advantages but also the visibility and connectivity crucial in a competitive market,” said Rik Dehollogne, Alderman for Economy of Hasselt.
A boost for Kortessem and Limburg
With this project, Kortessem gains a sustainable business park that meets the needs of entrepreneurs and contributes to the broader economic development of the region. The park will create additional employment and new opportunities for SMEs and investors.
Tom Thijsen, former Mayor of Kortessem and current Alderman for Core Strengthening and Finance: “This new business park marks an important step for Kortessem. It brings economic dynamism, jobs, and at the same time invests in sustainable, high-quality infrastructure. Together, we are building the future of our municipality and our region.”
With the Kortessem Green Business Park, we reinforce our commitment to sustainable and flexible business spaces. Close to Hasselt, the economic heart of Limburg, we offer entrepreneurs the space to grow in an environment that is future-proof while adding value to the entire region.
A festive start
The ceremony took place in the presence of Tom Thijsen, Rik Dehollogne, and Bert De Nijs, together with local and regional entrepreneurs and policymakers. After the speeches, the official act was followed by a networking lunch in a friendly atmosphere.
