BVI.EU starts construction of Heermeers Green Business Park in Evergem

New 8100 m2 sustainable business park with 39 modular SME units

BVI.EU, an established developer of SME units, mixed business parks and built-to-suit buildings, is starting construction on the Heermeers Green Business Park in Evergem. After receiving permission and acquiring the land, we were also able to lay the foundation stone today. The business park is located near the port of Ghent and is easily accessible via the R4 and N9 motorways. This is an excellent geographical location with a high yield value that can expect a lot of interest from end users and investors. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.

High working comfort and low environmental impact

Heermeers Green Business Park in Evergem is a sustainable SME park that combines energy performance with high working comfort and low environmental impact. With 39 SME units totalling 8100 m², BVI.EU offers a ready-made solution for SMEs in the region. The units range in size from 115 to 235 m² and are modular. They can be easily combined depending on the needs of the client. A unit is offered as a shell, but can be customised and delivered turnkey with the necessary technical installations and permits for an extra charge.

The Mayor of Evergem, Joeri De Maertelaere, is enthusiastic: “Entrepreneurs need the right space and facilities to start or expand a business. The business park offers a great opportunity for local entrepreneurs and is a welcome support. As a municipality, we are very happy about the arrival of the SME park.”

Michel Meers, our founder, joins him. “Belgium is known as an SME paradise with more than one million businesses creating almost 60% of total employment nationwide. On average, 3.9% new SMEs are added every year. And they need a place to do business. The need among local entrepreneurs is great and we can offer them the ideal working environment. With Heermeers Green Business Park we are expanding in Flanders and I am really proud of that. With Evergem, a canal and harbour area on the green outskirts of Ghent, we have added a beautiful location where a business park will come into its own.”

Work started today

The foundation stone for the Heermeers Green Business Park in Evergem was laid today. But that is not stopping interested parties from already securing their business space. More than half of the 39 units have already been sold, the other half is still available. Rombouts, Noest and Eagles Cleaning are already some of the end users who will move into the SME park in early 2024.

A truly ‘Green’ Business Park

The entire site is being built in one go and consists of three buildings. In addition to the modularity of the units, energy and water consumption is also high on the agenda. Each unit is equipped with a skylight that provides natural lighting and takes light reflection into account. There are numerous options for energy-efficient systems such as solar panels, charging stations and heat pumps. Finally, each unit has its own cistern for water recovery.

It is not only a ‘green’ park in terms of infrastructure, the visual elements also play a role. Ornamental grasses, zones with colourful flowers, planters and grassy benches will beautify the surroundings. In addition, the proximity to Heermeers Park is a natural advantage for this SME park. We combine various sustainability elements to achieve a high quality product to stand out from the competition.
